On release there will probably be several messages aroound tight spots or skeletons in need of encouragement but there will probably be more bloodstains than messages. Invasions are usually tied to a covenant so the things you lose/gain are based on the covenant you've joined.ĥ.The game won't load thousands of signs at once. You can't interact with chests, doors, levers or npcs as a phantom.You can still trigger traps and light sconces.Ĥ.You don't lose items, only the souls you've collected and probably your ember form, like any normal death. DS2 also gave you a covenant token as a reward. As a Phantom you can be summoned by several hosts to kill the same boss multiple times. When killing a boss, a Phantom will get some souls (the currency, not the item). Phantoms saw an occasional lifegem dropped and in the DLC they could rarely get certain DLC-specific weapon drops. In DS2, only the host got any items dropped. If you both want to progress at the same rate you can reverse the roles of Host/Phantom and play through the area again.

Your friend can then see this sign in his world and interact with it to summon you there as a white phantom. One of you will have to use an item (that can be reused indefinitely) to place a summon sign.
